Originally it's a song released in 1952 by country singer Hank Thompson who also wrote this song. It was famous for the line "I didn't know God made Honky Tonk angels". As you can hear Quo has changed that line a little. A lot of artists have recorded it since then, including the Carter family. Lovely song with only 3 chords I think, perfect for Quo. :o)
